We are excited to welcome Crystal Matthews & Sympatico Training to our barn!

A California native, Crystal spent her childhood riding horses alongside her parents and grew up watching her father train problem horses.  After getting an early start in Eventing, at age 12, she found her passion for hunter jumpers.

Working with horses came naturally, and among Crystal’s first jobs was starting Welsh ponies for SAR Ranch in Hollister. Following that in 2007, she started a lesson program at Calero Ranch Stables, transforming a string of trail horses to a winning team at the local hunter jumper shows. She also worked as a Hunter Jumper trainer at 5 Star farms in Morgan Hill, and obtained her USHJA Trainer Certification in 2010.

In 2021, Crystal relocated to Oregon to be closer to her family. She spent the past 3 years the assistant trainer for Brawley Farms, before starting up her own program. Crystal enjoys working with young horses, and her kind and effective teaching methods work well not only with horses but with riders alike of all ages and levels.
